Marriage: Michael Robbins 1961; John Carter 1975; Peter Westphal 1996.
Graduate Study: University of Maryland, 1969 – 72.
Teaching Positions and Dean: Pittsburgh, Emory, University of California Berkeley, University of Denver, Louisiana State, Dean 1979 – 81, University of Wisconsin Madison 1981 – 94, FSU 1994 – 2004.
Special Contributions: ALA Councilor 1973 – 74, 1986 – 1990; Chair, COA Standards Revision Committee 1989 – 92; President Wisconsin Library Association 1986; President, Association for Library and Information Science Education 1984; Director, Florida Library Association 1997 – 2000. Led the transformation of the school to a college. Promoted the establishment of the undergraduate program and the distance learning program. Enlarged the scope of the school, now college. The faulty grew from 14 to 32 and the enrollment grew to the second largest program in the United States.
