The FSU IT program is about modern information technology and then some, it also helps you learn how to

• establish a habit of continuous learning

Requirements for a Major in Information Technology

The major in IT program is a forty-two (42) semester hour program Students must take a minimum of twenty-four (24) semester hours in required courses:

• LIS 3021 Technical Communication for the Information Professional
• LIS 3201 Research and Data Analysis for Information Professionals
• LIS 3267 Information Science
• LIS 3353 Technologies for Information Services
• LIS 3706 Information Systems and Services
• LIS 3784 Information Organization and Communication
• LIS 4708 Perspectives in Information Technology
• LIS 4910 Information Technology Project

Students must also take a minimum of eighteen (18) semester hours of electives. Students may focus their electives in the areas of:

• Security and Networking
• Database Design and Management
• Web Site Design and Web Application Development and Management
• Health Informatics

• COP XXXX An object-oriented course (FSU students take COP2258)
• MAC XXXX Pre-calculus or MAD XXXX Discrete Mathematics

Note: All prerequisite courses must be completed with a minimum grade of "C–."
