Facilities

The School is located within the Louis Shores Building at the heart of the FSU campus on Landis Green. The Louis Shores Building houses student and faculty offices; classrooms; two research institutes, the Information Institute and PALM Center; the Goldstein Library; the Gregory and Terezza conference rooms; and the Help Desk.

iSpace@FSU

In addition to the physical facilities the School provides the iSpace Computer Cluster which gives students and faculty the computer and software facilities they need to develop web pages and web applications, install and run digital library systems, perform statistical analyses and test or develop a wide variety of software used in education and research. The system is built on a cluster of computers that provides access to a wide variety of software and a web hosting environment that students enrolled in FSU School of Library & Information Studies courses can use for their coursework.

The CCI Help Desk (644-8108 or help@cci.fsu.edu)

The School Help Desk is located in the Goldstein Library and is available to assist students with technical questions. It also houses 8 modern computer systems available for student use. The Help Desk's hours of operation are posted each semester on the CCI Help Desk web site.

Equipment Checkout

The School has video equipment available for student use. Students are encouraged to use this equipment for only course work, DIS and other related activities. This equipment may be checked out of the Goldstein Library and can be delivered to distance students.

Audio Video Recording Studio

The School has an audio video recording studio for student use. The facility includes video recorders, advanced audio recording systems, video, audio editing software, a blue screen, teleprompter and other equipment needed to create high quality audio and video for the web.
