The Information Institute conducts research that focuses on the information user, and the interaction of the user with information products, services, policies, technologies, and organizations. Of special interest is the planning and evaluation of networked and other information services.
The Institute also conducts information policy research on current issues at Federal and state levels related to public access, privacy, records management, and use of information in electronic forms as well as other topics. Dr. Charles R. McClure is the Director of the Information Institute.

By employing their unique focus on user information seeking needs, iDigInfo works to be the top international source of information management and analysis activities, especially in the area of the capture and analysis of scientific inference and the information that supports it. Dr. Greg Riccardi is the Director and Dr. Diane Leiva is the Assistant Director of iDigInfo.
Partnerships Advancing Library Media (PALM) Center

The Partnerships Advancing Library Media (PALM) Center is a joint effort of the Learning Systems Institute (LSI) and two Florida State colleges, the College of Communication & Information and the College of Education. The center offers an array of services to support school librarians and other educators throughout the U.S. and internationally to improve their districts and schools. A wide range of research and evaluation services is available, from large-scale surveys and evaluation of reliability and validity of program implementation, to individualized, in-depth case studies of school libraries, technology implementation and whole school change. The center has the expertise to assist with research and evaluation needs in school and informal educational settings.
The PALM Center offers consulting services related to school library modernization, broadband deployment, technology integration, rural schools, leadership development and other critical areas to support implementation of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, including Enhancing Education Through Technology, Race to the Top, Invest in Innovation and School Modernization. Dr. Nancy Everhart is the Director and Dr. Marcia Mardis is the Assistant Director of the PALM Center.
