Pop-Up Books on Display at Goldstein Library
The Goldstein Library hosts "POP: Books as Exploration of Design, Math and Text" from Oct. 24 to Nov. 24. Subjects of these pop-up books include The Little Mermaid, The Cat in the Hat, original works of fiction and tributes to World War II heroes.
The pop-up books resulted when SPC visual arts faculty members decided to create a project that would engage and challenge Design I students. The resulting class emphasized principles of a traditional two-dimensional medium while introducing a three-dimensional design.
In addition to the exhibit in the Goldstein Library, located in the Louis Shores Building, pieces from the collection will also be displayed at Strozier Library's Special Collections and the Dirac Science Library.
| A reception celebrating the exhibit will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Goldstein. Light refreshments will be served. All pop-up book lovers are welcome. |
